"Painting By Alfred Auguste Félix Bachmann (1863-1956) Panoramic View Of Rome From Montemario"
Superb large painting representing the city of ROME IN PERFECT CONDITION ON its canvas and frame with a modern gilded wooden frame, signed lower left by Alfred Auguste BACHMANN, GREAT SPECIALIST IN VIEWS of cities like Venice or Constantinople among others but very rare in his production: a view of Rome, a panoramic with the Tiber and the St. Angelo castle in perspective before, on the left, the Vatican. With a very beautiful light and quality, animated by lots of characters in 18th century clothes, this painting is perfectly balanced. BACHMANN studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in KONIGSBERG, Russia today, settled in Munich in 1891 and devoted himself to landscapes (Iceland, Normandy, the coasts of Portugal, Tenerife, Istanbul, the Bosphorus and Venice mainly), which reveals a great traveling painter. His works can be found in a good number of important collections. His style is modern for the time.
