Japan, Edo Period, Sake Bottle, Teapot Representing Hotei

Very beautiful and rare sake bottle from the Edo period (1603-1868), first half of the 19th century. Representing Hotei, one of the seven deities of good fortune in Japanese mythology. Hotei is the deity of abundance, good health, contentment and trade. His name means "cloth bag" so he is often represented with a purse as an attribute. As here where we see him pulling his bag transformed into a reservoir. Good general condition, small chip on the lid. This one is present which is not always the case. Shipping costs for France: €20
