Emile Henry was a watercolorist known for his numerous views of the city of Marseille. He is said to have been a sailor before occupying a studio on the Quai du Canal in Marseille between 1880 and 1918. He formed a group of artists with Giraud la Pipe, Garibaldi, Gaussen, and Victor Coste.
