Pointilist Landscape Oil Painting - Twilight Stroll Through The Olive Grove

Oil on canvas depicting a sunlit rural scene, likely Mediterranean, featuring two women walking through a field surrounded by olive trees under a dynamic sky. The artist uses a vibrant palette dominated by lilacs, pinks, ochres and cool greens to evoke the warmth of the landscape and the softness of natural light. The composition suggests an artist attentive to color relationships, light atmosphere, and the formal balance between human presence and the land.

The technique stands out for its short, rhythmic brushstrokes applied in discrete, separated dabs — a hallmark of the divisionist or pointillist approach. This method links the painting to the legacy of Neo-Impressionism seen in southern Europe during the early to mid-20th century.

The piece is signed in the lower right corner with a name that appears to begin with a “G” or “J” and ends in “PHY”, though the artist has not yet been definitively identified.

Ornate gilded frame with dark green inner border. The frame is in very good condition, showing only minor signs of age.
