Large still life from the end of the 19th century, beautifully framed in a faux marble frame in a very Grand Siècle style. It depicts an opulent bouquet of lilacs in a copper planter typical of the Napoleon III period, with gadroons and lion's paws. The whole in a particularly strong chiaroscuro. We note some bitumen parts as is not unusual in 19th century works, a significant scratch on the right side, and old restorations that are not always very successful. The painting would benefit from restoration and cleaning to improve readability. The frame is in good condition and very decorative. Overall dimensions 73 x 63 cm Visible 59 x 49 cm
