Made in two parts fixed to each other, bearded and smiling Lao Tzu is dressed in a loose garment covering his head, he is reading an open scroll on his knees and is sitting on a mocking-looking buffalo. Signed below: 宗音製造 -Kinzan soon sei zo. Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912)*Lao Tzu / Lao Zi is a Chinese philosopher, He is considered a posteriori as the founding father of Taoism.
