The original carved giltwood frame is impressive, as are the two winged angels on the upper section of the frame. Circa1800.Carlo Maratta or Maratti (1625 - 1713) Italian artist, worked primarily in Rome in the classical Baroque manner.The monumental gilt frame with the sunken angels adorning each shoulder is a wonderful work in itself.
