Oil On Canvas, Marine, Fishing Scene From Nord-pas-de-calais, 20th Century
Oil on canvas of good size, realistic 20th century representing a fishing scene at low tide on a beach of Pas de Calais probably Etaples or Berck. The sailors represented wear the calipette, a sort of flat cotton canvas cap adjusted to the hair, a band of English embroidery fixed on the front of the cap. Those worn by the women represented in the painting suggest that they are Etaples (Etaples) or Berck (Berck); northern shore in the taste of the painters Eugène Boudin or Johan Barthold Jongkind, soft and peaceful light thanks to these pretty melted reflections framed in a beautiful period gilded frame which certainly gives the whole a beautiful painting
