Double-sided broken fan from the 18th century in Vernis Martin. On one side it is decorated with a mythological scene after the composition of Antoine Coypel: "Diane au bain"; the many characters are very expressive and the pretty varied colors very well preserved. On the reverse we find a very peaceful antique animated landscape with relaxing colors. This fan was formerly braided on its upper part in order to place it on a support in front of a mirror thus allowing to admire the 2 sides at the same time. This collector's item or simply for decoration is in remarkable condition; Very high quality of execution in the rendering of the characters as well as in the peaceful atmosphere of the landscape. H: 21.5cm L: 40cm.
