Exceptional commemorative silver trowel. Foundation of the Saint-Louis bridge, between Menton and Ventimiglia in Italy. Engraved "Pont du Ravin de Saint-Louis founded on April 4, 1813".

Solid silver, Master Goldsmith hallmark MAB. Blackened wooden handle.

Numerous references and articles concerning this work decided by Napoleon I. This bridge (which dominates the bed of a 36m torrent) has a single 15m arch and was completed in 1918.
