Superb tea/coffee/dessert service for 12 people from Raynaud, "Promenade au Palais Royal" model. Near new condition. Some marks under the top. The motifs of the labels evoke the customs of the "incredible" and "marvelous" eccentric youth of Paris under the Directory and are inspired by an engraving by Louis Carrogis, known as Carmontelle (1795-1799). All the characters and foliage are enhanced by hand before being painted with colored enamels and powdered with pure gold.
