"Born in Belgrade in 1908, Miloje Todorovitch studied at the University of Vienna, where he trained as an architect, then returned to Belgrade to attend the School of Fine Arts. He came to France in 1935 to join a doctor aunt living in Brittany, who, recognizing his artistic abilities, encouraged him to try his luck as a painter. Brittany made a great impression on him, both for its landscapes and for the village customs he discovered there. The contrast between his pictorial works, with their rich and bold colors, and his constant research into textures and materials through his drawings and Indian inks reveals the skill of his palette and his insatiable quest for perfection. He exhibited in Paris, at the Duncan Gallery, as well as in Berlin and Rome. In 1972, a major exhibition at the Maison de l'Amérique latine in Paris was dedicated to him."
