Beautiful ewer in gilded bronze and patinated bronze in the manner of Claude Galle, from the Empire Consulate period, circa 1815. This ewer has a very beautiful handle ending in a rooster's head. (The rooster is the attribute of Hermes) The belly is surrounded by a finely chiseled frieze of laurel leaves, it rests on a guilloche pedestal ending in a quadrangular base resting on a counter base in patinated bronze. This object is of very good quality and beautiful size. "Claude Galle 1759-1815, one of the greatest bronziers and founders-ciseurs of the end of the Louis XVI period and the Empire in Paris around 1810.
