Gilded bronze and patinated bronze sculpture representing a tiger in ruins facing a statue of a Chinese Foo dog. Work circa 1920 entitled "In the ruins". Art Deco period. Beautifully sized bronze resting on a red griotte marble base. Signature on the base "G. Gardet" and mark of the prestigious founder "F. Barbedienne. Fondeur". Perfect condition. This bronze is reproduced in the book by Florence Rionnet, "Les bronzes de Barbedienne", page 336, Arthena editions.
