The Magician's Election Drawing 1830 -1840

Interesting political drawing circa 1830 - 1840 signed RALPH BON representing a magician conjurer in front of his table on which there are bonneteau cups and an election ballot box marked: SCRUTIN. In his hand the magician holds a ballot paper on which is written: ME At the back of the acrobats calling to watch their show. We see on the poster a naked woman thumbing her nose, it is written: LAST WORD OF ART. This is undoubtedly a political caricature showing a candidate for an election in the guise of a conjurer. Louis-Philippe I and Napoleon III were also represented in this way. Laid paper 16 x 21 cm, frame 29 x 34.5 cm
