A remarkable jardinière made in the workshops of Victor Saglier in Paris around 1900 after a design by the prominent Art Nouveau designer Louis Majorelle. Organic and asymmetrical floral ornaments cover the entire object. The feet and handles are also cast in the form of floral ornament. Majorelle had workshops for furniture and metalwork, where he made furniture, accessories and lamps, while his goldsmith and haberdashery designs were made by the goldsmith house of Victor Saglier, with whom Majorelle collaborated in the early years of the 20th century. The last photograph shows a catalogue of objects from 1900-1903, with a model of the jardinière visible.
