Hunting Cup, Knife-cut Boxwood, 18th Century, “treen”

Here is an unusual object, hunting cup, which found a place in rider's pocket on 18th century, to offer toasts, celebrate the catch, without leaving riding.
This one, oval in shape, is ergonomic, left hand adapts to it immediately.
Monoxyl boxwood little shell is richly pen knife carved, of a clever geometric decoration surrounding four rosettes and one large leaf. Patina is superb.
Good condition, but not perfect: small chip on edge, small internal hairline which does not go through.. (see red arrows).
Dimensions: 11.2cm x 5.8cm x 3.5cm.
