Artist: Peter Reinicke

History of the cries of Paris
Criage appears there as a public service placed under the dependence of royal authority. Men, women or children wandered the streets and shouted their goods or services to attract customers. Each trade had its own characteristic cry. Meissen was inspired by these professions and created a series of 34 figurines with his characters.
