Karl Ens was born and died in Lauscha in Germany, 1802 - November 5, 1865. In 1790, Johann Karl Ens (1759-1813) founded a porcelain factory with his brothers. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the company specialized in the creation of animals (birds, dogs, butterflies and fish). Most of the collection, which has more than 400 models, concerns birds. Each piece is made by hand. For a single model of bird, there are several molds; the pieces are then assembled to form the figurine. Along with Meissen and Dresden, the Karl Ens factory is one of the main signatures of famous Saxon porcelain.
