Adorable miniature from the end of the 18th century, depicting a port in the moonlight with a swarm of details. The fishermen are hauling in their nets, or casting a line, and in front of a fort, ships are at anchor. In a very small diameter we have all the elements of a painting in the style of Henry d'Arles or his master Vernet. This miniature is in its original frame, all in excellent condition.
