Luigi Senesi, Lithograph “interaction No. 1”, 1972, Italy
Artist: Luigi Senesi
Luigi Senesi was an Italian painter and printmaker, trained at L'Istituto di Arte in Trento, later continuing his artistic training in Florence. Between 1972 and 1973 his painting came to a radical change: the painter began to devote himself to the study of color, light and space, through a personal technique of subdividing the canvas.
The work in question is a lithograph of 15 total copies, of which this is number 4. The image measures 30x30 cm and features an abstract composition that fades from blue to white toward the center of the print. The gradient is punctuated by midnight blue horizontal lines that help delineate the color transition.
The full sheet of the lithograph measures 50x70 cm. It is signed and dated 1972 at lower right and has a non-coeval, white-lacquered frame measuring 53x73 cm.
