Originally from Concarneau, Alfred Guillou met the painter Eugène Isabey at a very young age, who would mark his destiny as a painter. It was in Alexandre Cabanel's studio in Paris that he continued his training as a painter with his friend Régnault, where he also met Cormon. He devoted himself to landscape, seascape and portrait painting, and he also liked scenes from everyday life. Original oil on canvas, signed lower left and dated on the hull of the boat 1864. Dimensions: 42 x 32 cm without frame and 60 x 50 cm Museums: - Fine Arts of Morlaix, - Quimper - Museum of Art and History of Saint-Brieuc.
