"Guanyin "cintâmanichakra" In Stone China, End Of The Qing Dynasty Around 1900"
Sculpture representing Guanyin, bodhisattva of compassion, in a posture of relaxation, characteristic of Cintâmanichakra iconography. She is seated, one knee raised and resting on a wooden bench with finely carved root feet. In one hand, she holds a lotus branch, symbol of purity and enlightenment. Her face, with delicate features and a gentle expression, is imbued with serenity and meditation, accentuated by half-closed eyes. Her long pleated dress and gracefully arranged headdress complete this harmonious and introspective representation. Hard stone, probably red and beige agate or steatite, finely carved and polished. Very good general condition, with a beautiful patina of use. China, circa 1900. Dimensions: 12 x 8 x 6.5 cm.
