Antoine Charles Horace Vernet known as Carle Vernet 1758-1836 is a painter of genre and horses, student of his father Joseph Vernet and Nicolas Bernard Lépicié. He painted genre and battle scenes, dealt with lighter subjects by making portraits of marvelous and incredible, hunting scenes, but more than anything he devoted himself to the representation of horses that he loved passionately.
