A Rare 18th Century French Qianlong Market Export Cream Pot
A rare export cream pot for the French market. Refined iron red decoration of a scene of a loving couple embracing in a densely wooded landscape. Cupid above holding a flaming torch in one hand and a crown in the other. Gilt spout and foot rim. Qianlong C1760-70.
Height ; 4 1/4" (10.6 cm).
Condition; a 2.5 cm "V" shaped crack on the side of the handle. Frit on the rim and on the handle, small chip on the side of the spout.
The unidentified scene is possibly after François Boucher (1703-1770).
