Pair of armchairs in tubular steel and black lacquered steel wire, model "OTI" made by the Danish designer Niels Gammelgaard in the 1980s. Period 20th century Niels Gammelgaard (born in 1944) is a Danish industrial designer. After studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, he created the architecture and design company Box 25 Architects. In 1975, he began his collaboration with IKEA and designed many best-sellers. In 1978, he created the company Pelikan Design, an industrial design agency, with Lars Mathiesen and designed over the years a wide variety of products, such as pencils, children's bicycles and hospital beds. However, his success comes mainly from the design of furniture for offices, waiting rooms and rest areas, produced by the companies Fritz Hansen, Bent Krogh, Fredericia and Erik Jorgensen.
