French school of the first half of the 19th century Portrait of the magistrate Auguste Prouveur Pastel on paper (framed). Dimensions (on view): 44 x 38 cm. Notes: Pensionary councilor of the city of Valenciennes and member of the Estates of Hainaut, he was deputy of the North from 1791 to 1792. He was then prosecutor of the commune of Valenciennes, judge at the district court, then in 1800, sub-prefect of Cambrai. He was prefect of Indre in 1804 then prefect of Vienne in April 1815. He was knight of the Empire in 1808 then baron in 1809.
