Shield, Indo-persian Rondache Called Dhal, Hand-chiseled Brass, Persian Defensive Art From The 19th Century

Shield, Indo-Persian roundel called "Dhal" in brass with hand-chiseled decoration.
Three large pendants in the shape of halberds decorated with floral motifs start from an aggressive decorated pike adorning the center.
These three pendants are separated by three large domed bosses reminiscent of the sun in their decoration.
Around the perimeter, a beautiful frieze with epigraphic decoration embraces this shield.
On the reverse, a brass hand handle.
These objects are representative of Persia, Iran, Kadjar Art but also of Mughal art, India of the 19th century, it is very difficult to give them a precise place of creation as this type of small defensive shields was present in these territories.
Diameter: 27.7 cm, slight traces of oxidation and used condition, good condition of conservation.
