TAPESTRY, BRUSSELS, 17th CENTURY, c. 1660, FOLLOWING THE CELEBRARY TENTURE ‘LES CHASSES DE MAXIMILIEN’ AFTER BERNARD VAN ORLEY wool and silk. This could be a composition inspired by the drawing ‘The Month of January’ in the Louvre. The dogs are held back by picketers. With its border of altars supporting loves under a garland of flowers, on either side of loves presenting a cartel with a landscape in garlands of fruit and above heavy garlands of fruit and knotted ribbons. The borders can be compared with those of the tapestries woven by Gérard Peemans, circa 1660, which are in the collections of the Royal Palace of Spain Patrimonio Nacional, volumen II, siglo XVII, pp. 29, 30 & 31 Tapestry in good condition with some old restoration. Fully revised with new lining and hanging system.  I guarantee a well cleaned tapestry, in very good condition with its hanging system. If necessary, we will detail the work that has been carried out. All our tapestries can be presented to you at your home in the Provence Languedoc region and Paris, Ile de France in France without any obligation, please ask for our conditions. Free delivery in France. Full refund if the Tapestry does not meet your expectations.
