Blanche Eglène-surieux (lyon 1884 - 1944) Lyon School Bouquet Of Pink Peonies In A Vase Paintin

With this timeless grace characteristic of her delicate bouquets, our painting signed by Blanche Eglène - Surieux represents a bouquet of blooming peonies in multiple shades of pink to purplish in a colorless glass vase. This is an oil on thick cardboard made in the 1930s. It is highlighted by its beautiful original Montparnasse frame and therefore from the period. In the background, as usual with the artist, a very fine vegetal background; a beautiful palette of pastel but sustained colors as well as a beautiful luminosity enliven our painting. Signed lower left: B. Eglène-Surieux. 
A member of the Société Lyonnaise des Beaux Arts, she exhibited at several salons of the said society, notably at that of 1939.
