France: Taza rapier from the Royal Manufacture of Alsace created by Louis XV in 1731 and renamed in 1792, National Manufacture of White Weapons of BAS-RHIN. XVIII°. Iron shell mount, fuse with filigree, long guard quillon and joint arc not connected to the pommel. Heavy spherical pommel with rivet button. Straight flat blade with central flattened edge with engraving on both sides in the 1st third. One side marked: Royal Manufacture of Alsace and the other side bodyguard of the king (partly illegible) Double-edged blade without scabbard.
