Henri Sié is a French painter. (1936-2024) Southerner, born in Toulouse where he studied fine arts, Henri Sié discovered Saint-Tropez in the 70s. He opened his own art gallery there in 1986 and his very particular style, his bright Mediterranean colors, his twisted umbrella pines, his views of Saint-Tropez as only he could represent them, become as many testimonies of his attachment to this famous village which became his adopted homeland. His recognized work, his paintings open the doors to the most beautiful places and allow him to be bought by major collectors in France but also around the world. This large oil on canvas represents a view of part of Saint-Tropez. It is the bell tower of the church and the district of La Ponche from a viewing angle located just below the Citadel. The painting opens the village onto the Mediterranean and the Gulf of Saint-Tropez on the Grimaud side with the Maures massif in the background. Signed lower right. Painting alone: 73 cm by 92 cm
