Carved from a large disc of fossilized clam “Tridacana Gigas” 21 cm in diameter
and adorned with a stylized sea-scale frigate sculpture.
Assembled of plant fibers.

The "Tema" pectoral ornament is a distinctive man's ornament from the Santa Cruz Islands
in Temotu province in the Solomon Islands.

They are worn by warriors and high-ranking men during ceremonies
in pectoral on the torso.

They are also worn as a frontal decoration on the head for smaller TEMA.
