Icon Of Our Lady Of Grace Of Cambrai ( North France)
Icon on wood, 19th century copy of Our Lady of Grace of Cambrai, in Italo-Byzantine style and of the Eleousa or Virgin of Tenderness type, the original icon made around 1340 has been kept at Cambrai Cathedral since the 15th century (dimensions of the original: 35.7 cm x 25.7) and has been the object of fervent worship and pilgrimages since that time. This Marian representation has inspired many primitive Flemish and Dutch painters. In very good condition, it has its original frame in black lacquered wood, and has never been dismantled.
