The Horses Of Marly

Artist: Guillaume Coustou
Important pair of sculpted groups representing rearing horses and their grooms, in brown patinated babbitt, inspired by the Horses of Marly after Guillaume Coustou. The Horses of Marly were commissioned in 1739 by Louis XV from the sculptor to decorate the Marly watering trough located at the entrance to the park of the Château de Marly. Very decorative.
