Oil on canvas 27x46 cm "The port of "Anvers"" 1939
Signed and located lower left, located and dated on the back
Self-taught, Albert Lepreux followed the Académies Libres de Montmartre, and began to exhibit in 1909 at the Salon des Indépendants.
He participated with Monet, Sisley, Pissarro at the Salon La Libre Esthétique in Brussels, and exhibited in the major Parisian galleries, Bernheim, Georges Petit, Druet ...
Following numerous trips to Morocco and Algeria, he also exhibited regularly at the Société Coloniale des Artistes Français.
Albert Lepreux liked to paint cities, playing with architectural volumes, sensitively evoking the character of a city, as in this view of the port of Antwerp, with a beautiful northern light.
