Mieczyslaw Marian Lurczynski is a Polish artist born in Saint Petersburg in 1908. He studied painting in Warsaw and exhibited in various Polish cities, he also wrote poems and plays. During the Second World War he joined the Resistance, he was arrested in 1943 and sent to Buchenwald, he escaped after the liberation and took refuge in Hanover until 1949 then settled in Paris until his death in 1992. This post-impressionist landscape evokes tachism and fauvism, this clearing surrounded by large trees is made with small touches of juxtaposed paint, the shapes and contours are drawn by the color of the support left free of all materials. The colors, soft and harmonious, reproduce a peaceful and poetic landscape. This is an oil on cardboard, preserved in a modern frame imitating the frames of the 18th century. Period 20th century.
