A student of Cormon and Adler at the École nationale supérieur d’arts décoratifs in Paris, Hervé won a gold medal at the Salon des artistes français in 1925, and a gold medal at the 1937 Universal Exhibition.
His painting, luminous and poetic, is in the wake of the Impressionists, and his paintings are today kept in many museums: Petit Palais in Paris, Langres, Dijon, Saint-Etienne, Tourcoing, Annecy, Chicago, Casablanca…
