Magnificent Glove Box Jewelry Box Boulle Marquetry à La Reine Napoleon III

Magnificent rectangular box with a lively front, rounded corners, in blackened wood and Boulle marquetry "à la reine". Its lid, very slightly domed, is finely decorated with brass inlays and iridescent mother-of-pearl dots. A continuous bronze bead (without cut) underlines the edge of the lid and numerous threads of different widths adorn the box. Its front is openable and reveals the interior in rosewood, typical of the refinement of the Napoleon III era. The lock is made of brass as are all the hinges. Its original key which takes the shape of the "four-leaf" brass inlays is present. Napoleon III period. Dimensions: Length: 27 cm Height: 8 cm Depth: 10.2 cm Very good condition.
