"Eugène Baudin (1853 - 1918) Art Nouveau Vase In Flamed Stoneware Era 1900"
This charming enameled stoneware vase is the work of master potter Eugène Baudin from Vierzon (Cher) to whom Prince Albert I of Monaco entrusted the management of the second artistic pottery in Monte-Carlo, inaugurated in 1907. It closed its doors in 1914. With matt eggplant and green enamels, a specialty of our artist, the relief of its organic form is highlighted by a fine mount decorated with scrolls. Signed below with the "B" of Baudin incised underglaze in the material. Dimension: Height: 9.7 cm Good condition. Tiny small superficial losses at the base (see photos).
