Authentic brass ball decorating a staircase starting post.
Probably dates from the end of the 19th century.
Has a screw thread to fix it on a threaded rod to be integrated into the staircase post.
Some hollows and bumps related to its age.
Could be polished more, but personally, I like this amber patina and these irregularities.

height = 14 cm; diameter of the ball = 10 cm
