China - Cocoon Vase - Han Dynasty - Tl
Very beautiful terracotta vase with slip and polychromies, called "Cocon". These vases were very widespread during the Han Dynasty, they were found in different sizes and filled with wine. They were generally stored in the rooms adjacent to the main room of the deceased. Here we find a polychromy made of carmine red, beige, salmon and black in traditional geometric shapes. Accompanied by a thermoluminescence test certifying the period. Origin: China. Dimensions: Length: 31 cm; Width: 20 cm; Height: 29 cm. Period: Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220). Provenance: Private collection in Monaco. Condition: Very good general condition.
