Antique Haberdashery: Paper Mache Box For Spools Of Thread For Sewing
Now that's what I call packaging! Wouldn't it be amazing if you were given such a box when you bought your sewing threads? However, this was done under the Second Empire as you can see here. The lid is in a Far Eastern decal and on the front, here is a logo that says "Société Française de Coton à Coudre" - Paris. There is also a paper label glued to the side specifying its specific contents: "Rouge Grand Teint 90".
