LOUIS XVI period court sword with its shagreen scabbard and its lock, circa 1770 - 1780, 18th century. Iron mount with guilloche decoration on the fuse, the joint arch and the escutcheon. Small donkey step and guilloche urn pommel with rivet button. Oval guard plate with guilloche interior face. Fine triangular blade engraved, blued and gilded in a third. Shagreen scabbard with three fittings including a long grooved and guilloche chappe, median bail ring and long grooved and guilloche rivet. Presented with its lock (uncommon).
