Paris Manufacture de Locré. Covered porcelain pot with polychrome floral decoration. The lid topped with a flower-shaped fretel. Mark under the base in Locré blue. Very good condition. Late 18th century. Independent house founded in 1771. Jean-Baptiste Locré lived in Germany and came from Leipzig. He married Christana Caritas Hoffmann and had a son Guillaume Locré de Roissy born in 1758. He founded the Locré factory in Paris at 34, rue de la Fontaine-au-Roi in 1771. He was able to launch his house thanks to the artisanal know-how acquired during an apprenticeship trip to Saxony. Locré also opened a boutique in the Marais, rue Michel Le Comte.
