In this work, the artist has been particularly inspired by the great master of this subject, Juan Sánchez Cotán (1560-1627). This is a richly painted masterpiece of the genre.

Guillermo Martinez Soliman was an Argentinian artist, who travelled to Europe in 1925, settling in Belgium where he lived and exhibited.
