Portrait of the Pugilist Tom Sayers (1826-1865), 19th Century English School - Rare Portrait Circa 1860 Large 19th Century English Boxer Portrait of English Champion Tom Sayers, Oil on Canvas. Rare early portrait of Sayers in boxing attire circa 1860 with a record of 16 fights and one defeat after his English Championship victory and successful defences against heavyweight challengers despite his status as a middleweight fighter. The condition is excellent for its age, presented in its original antique gilt frame and with a title plate on the base of the frame. Dimensions: 28" x 22" framed approximately
