Paul LEBERGER (1927-2018). He was born in Toulouse and trained at the School of Fine Arts in the same city. He devoted his life to art from his youth until his death at the age of 91. Paul LEBERGER quickly developed his own style of painting and was noticed in the 1950s when he exhibited in art galleries in his region. Over the years, his reputation grew; his watercolors and oils were highly prized by painting enthusiasts. His shimmering palette, the landscapes of Toulouse and Venice, two cities he was particularly fond of, enchanted his many admirers.
Paul LEBERGER was recognized for the quality of his work and received numerous distinctions throughout his career. In 1958, he was awarded the Taylor Foundation Prize in Paris. In 1987, a major retrospective exhibition was organized by the city of Toulouse.
