Paul PLACE-CANTON (Merières 1862 – 1908 Toulon) Le Var à Colomars Signed and dated 99 lower right Oil on canvas, 60 x 93 cm THE ARTIST Landscape painter, student of Cormon and Dameron, he appeared at the Salon with a number of prizes including a third class medal in 1899. Our painting is the one for which he received his bronze medal in 1900 at the Universal Exhibition, n°1068 titled “Le Var à Colomars”.
