Writing Box - Louis XIV Period

Domed box with a wooden core covered in black shagreen leather and decorated with silver plates, one of which depicts a coat of arms. The interior in pink silk decorated with gold thread contains a compartmentalized writing kit. One containing the paper has a flap serving as a writing table. The second forms a lockable correspondence reserve (we have the key). The third is used to store pens and a fourth for accessories. Two cubic brass cones are also housed there, one for ink (with period glassware) and the other for powder. Louis XIV period, late 17th or early 18th century.

Condition report : fairly good condition. A silver spandrel is missing, small scattered losses to the leather, absence of the main key. Inside, a hook is missing from the flap forming a writing table, there are small snags in the gold thread weaving. 3 opening tabs are missing for the compartments. The interior for the nibs has ink stains.
